PATCH TESTING

Is A Patch Test really essential?

Because we put your safety first, A patch test is necessary for every Tinting, Lash Lift and Brow Lamination treatment we carry out. It is essential that a small amount of vegetable dye/developer/adhesive is applied in an area away from the eyes, in the event an allergic reaction were to occur it would be in an area that would be less affected than anywhere as sensitive. As both areas are so close to the eyes, putting product anywhere near that area – especially if you have sensitive skin – is a skilled job, which is why we definitely recommend you get it done professionally and don’t attempt it at home!

Do I have to pay for a Patch test?

No, Patch testing is Free of Charge

What is the Patch test process?

If you’re planning on having a tinting, lamination or lift treatment, you’re going to need to ensure that you come in for your patch test at least 48 hours before hand, as the tint itself needs 48 hours to develop. The actual patch test process is very quick and simple taking only a few minutes. You will be required to complete your patch test record form, so when you come in for your next tint/lift/lamination service you wont have to have another patch test, and 1-2 minutes to mix and apply the tint behind your ear and elbow/wrist. If you have very light hair, we would recommend you have your patch test on your inner elbow, to avoid staining your hair.

Do I need to have a patch test every time I go for a treatment?

Once you’ve had a patch test in salon, it is then valid for as long as you continue to use our services and then for 3 months after your last tinting/lamination/lift treatment.
If you are a regular tinting/lamination/lift client you will only need to have one patch test, but if you only have occasional services, you will need a patch test every treatment.
However it is important to note that patch tests are only valid at the salon they were carried out.

A limited number of product houses, services/products DO require patch testing before each service. Your therapist will advise you at the time of booking if you require an additional patch test

Can I sign a disclaimer?

No. Disclaimers are not accepted in salon for any service

What happens if I’m allergic to the tint?

This is very rare, if you do experience some redness/rash or itching, it’s unlikely it will be severe. Should you experience redness, or any other kind of allergic reaction thoroughly clean the area with cold water and avoid using any perfume or makeup products on the area until the reaction has disappeared.
Seek medical advice if required.

Unfortunately, if you do experience any kind of reaction from the tint, we cannot carry out the tinting/lamination/lift treatment. It’s very important that you inform us that you have had an allergic reaction, as your safety is even more important to us.
